Dr. May came to RAR in 2001 from the Medical College of Virginia/VCU School of Medicine, where he was Chief of Musculoskeletal Radiology. Dr. May is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine where he was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed his Radiology residency at the University of Vermont and fellowship in Musculoskeletal and Pediatric Radiology while serving his military commitment at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio. Dr. May has authored several medical journal papers in Musculskeletal and Pediatric Radiology and coauthored a Radiology textbook. He gives lectures to Radiology Residents in Richmond and beyond and reviews journal articles for AJR (American Journal of Radiology) and Pediatric Radiology.
Dr. May is a member of numerous medical societies including the Society of Skeletal Radiology, Society for Pediatric Radiology, American Society of Spine Radidology, American Roentgen Ray Society, Radiologic Society of North America, International Cartilage Repair Society, American College of Radiology, Medical Society of Virgina, and recently served as president of the Richmond Radiologic Society.
